Magicflart has been the bigger flatland contest in the history of Colombia and is a big step for the evolution of this sport in this country. Nevertheless a lot of people ask, How was created something like that? I will explain a little more about this event.

The idea begin some years before when some flatlanders analyze and look much events that happened national and internationally, we had need of create something that do more big the sport, which was making it more recognized, that give a status in the society and will offer motivation for all the riders. Looking that we could do to obtain this Magicflart arose.

The important for us were create something transcendent, something for a lot of time, something that lasts, something that grows and at the same time something that shows to the world the incredible of our sport. They were several months preparing what we were going to do and how were we going to do it? But then all our work began to take form and to develop until it was fulfilled.

The first thing that we did is the name, the idea was do something original but with much meaning. Of there arose the idea of to join three words for to form the name of the event: Magic, Flatland and Art. Why magic? The answer is simple, who have not think that some trick of flatland is incredible? Why flatland? Because is the name of the sport. Why art? Because is the concept more accept for define flatland, implies two things very important, originality and creative, in addition more things about an art. Then the union was MAGIC+FLART (Flatland+Art) and your respective slogan is: “The magic art”.

Also for the logo we try to do anything original, different from the common things and with much meaning. We chose a bush that visually is an F, in relation to the flatland. It is something natural (as the art of every flatlander), a symbol that expresses land (the flatland is practiced on the soil) and that demonstrates life, the life that all the flatlanders we give him to our sport.

After of it begins the hard work, search all the resources for doing the event. We look many places, sponsors search, to develop the web site, flyers, demos, interviews, etc. and very soon the great day.

I believe that many persons were not imagining the big that was going to be the event, for many that saw it in the mall or in the television this was something really new and I am sure that them were surprised and impressed.

In the event we had the participation of a great quantity of flatlanders of Colombia and 5 international ones: 2 Peru (Cliff Alania y Williams Perez), 2 France (Matthias Dandois and Raphael Chiquet) and 1 United States (Justin Miller). My more sincere gratefulness to all for having been present and a great embrace for Matthias, Raphael and Justin, I had the opportunity to share many moments, they have offered to us many motivation to all the riders of Colombia and when they return again they will see the important that was your coming, for many of us to know them it was made a dream a reality.

In the competition, the scene was really grand, a perfect place, the suitable soil, screens with videos of flatland, the totally full steps, the people shouting and jumping of the emotion and all the flatlanders in your turn were the center of attention. Ultimately the satisfaction, this sensation that something spectacular passed many autographs, photos, etc., an unforgettable moment for all the people that always will be reminded.

With this event is demonstrated that our country does not be the bad things that you hear, it is a reputation but when you are here you can see that it is totally different, is friendship, is happiness, is diversion, etc., and many things more in the flatland family.

Now it continues with the following Magicflart that will be realized on November 1 and 2, 2008, we want say that all the flatlanders around the world are invited to the competition of flatland more important of Colombia.
